Over the past 17 years I have earned a Bachelor of Applied Design degree and have also studied various fine art and design disciplines including textile design, interior design, graphic and web design. In 1997 HappyFish Design was created to provide graphic design, web design and hosting services to small and medium sized companies throughout the country. From 2001 through 2005 I worked for Kapalua Marketing (Kapalua Resort, Maui, Hawaii) and did projects on occasion with parent/sister companies Maui Land & Pineapple, Inc. and Maui Pineapple Company, Ltd. During this time I designed and coordinated pre and post press production of a vast range of projects including ads for local and national publications, promotional and informational collateral, signage, t-shirt designs, special event collateral (such as the Mercedes Championships and the Kapalua Wine & Food Festival) and so on. I also participated as a project coordinator during major website renovations (which were designed by StarrTech Interactive) and maintained a large family of websites including KapaluaMaui.com, KapaluaRealty.com, KapaluaClub.com, KapaluaVillas.com, and KapaluaLuxuryHomes.com. I have fallen in love with photography increasingly over the years working with my husband Chad - architecture, event and wedding photographer. I have also worked with other commercial photographers on various assignments. I am not a photographer, but I have an intuitive eye for great photographs and composition. I have experience not only in creating story boards for commercial and residential design, but also in organizing and utilizing both slide and digital image libraries. I have perfected my skills at hunting for that 'great image' for a specific message - or in your case, how to best tell your client's story.My goal is to focus on album design because there is an increasing need for quality design services for professional photographers who are wishing to devote more energy to enhance their business. I absolutely love looking through freshly completed weddings and getting involved with their story. Having my own young family, I've experienced how fast time flies by and powerful photos are the only way we can freeze those amazing moments - it's a very important job and something you as a professional photographer know and are proud of.
